Looks&PB: Matthias looks like his cousin Klaus; the thin build, long hair, and even glasses. However, that’s where the resemblances end. Matthias is younger, for one, and his thin build has slight muscle tone to it, as he is rather athletic; not on par with say a thief or a swordsman, but he does work out. His hair looks as if it has been cut with a dagger and was self done, but it’s quite stylish. His skin tone is actually a bit tanned, due to all the time he spends in the field with his students; and while he wears glasses, he only needs them for reading. His PB is Kiyokazu from Kobato.
Background: Matthias’ father is the brother to Klaus’ father. Twins, actually. While Klaus was raised in Juno, Matthias was born in Juno but quickly taken from the city, as his father loved to travel. A bard by trade (how did that happen?), Matthias’ father wandered the world to perform and make people happy; so quickly, Matthias saw a lot of Schwarzwald and Rune-Midgard.
A friend of his father’s was a mage, and the casting of magic enamored a young child like Matthias. And thus, his life began to change. His father enrolled Matthias in the Mage academy at the minimum age of seven, and by the age of fourteen he was ready to graduate. For a year following his graduation, Matthias traveled with his father to earn money to enter the Wizard academy; and by the age of twenty-three he had graduated a full-blown Wizard.
Matthias had been working at the Wizard academy for three years as a tutor in order to pay off some of his debt; however, once he graduated, he took on a full time teaching position. He’s one of the youngest instructors (if not –the- youngest instructor) at the academy; and often, he’s mistaken for his cousin if the students don’t know any better (and if they have friends in the Sage academy).
Personality: Matthias is extremely outgoing, but he has a temper. He is known to be extremely strict to his students, but he feels that’s the only way they’ll learn. He’s very rarely seen with a smile; usually his face is either blank or he’s frowning, but it’s more of a physical feature than anything else. It’s not that he’s unhappy, it’s more that he only expresses emotion when he’s feeling… emotional.
As for Klaus, Matthias has no ill feelings towards his cousin. One could say they may have a bit of a rivalry; or at least, in Matthias’ mind there’s a rivalry, as Klaus probably couldn’t care less.
